ICD-11
ICD-11 is now available as the new and simpler way to classify health conditions. It includes a range of new features including post coordination of codes, use of functioning domains as well as the most recent scientific knowledge of health conditions. ICD-11 will be kept updated to include the latest scientific and clinical developments, as well as new classification features. ICD-11 replaces ICD-10, which is no longer being updated by WHO.
NCCH International Services was an active participant in many aspects of the development of ICD-11 from its outset in 2007.
Vera Dimitropoulos and Richard Madden were part of the Joint Task force which worked from 2015 to 2018 to finalise ICD-11 for Mortality and Morbidity Statistics. Vera took a special interest in the transition from ICD-10 to ICD-11 for morbidity classification.
NCCH International Services can now assist in countries and organisations considering the adoption of ICD-11 for morbidity, including the steps needed to move from an existing classification system (ICD-10 or an earlier version). This includes:
